Gift Bag

I needed a gift bag for my hostess gift for this Saturday. I received a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 gift bag for a swap at the SU! Regional seminar from Kathy More. I decided to try and make one in a larger size. I am really tickled with the way it turned out!

I used a brown bag with some cardstock and ribbon. I cut the cardstock at 5 1/4 a 1/4 of an inch larger than the bag. Then I cut the bag to 7 inches. My cardstock I cut to 8 1/2 in order to give me some handle room. So your cardstock should be 5 1/4 x 8 1/2. Then cut a piece of DSP the same size.

The first thing you want to do is to fold the bottom of your bag so that both flaps are downward.

The bottom of your bag should look like this.

Adhere your cardstock to one side of the bag lining up the cardstock at the bottom of your bag. Put the Designer Series Paper on the other side. Again lining it up with the bottom of the bag.

This is what your bag should look like.

Using the Word Window Punch, punch out a hole on each side of your bag leaving a little bit on each side.

Putting the Word Window punch in the middle of your two punches to clean it up. There will be two little pieces of cardstock that need to be cleaned up.

I cut a piece of ribbon the width of my bag and adhered it with Tombow.

I cut another piece of ribbon and folded half of it forward and adhered.

I then folded the other half backwards and adhered it.

I cut a small piece of ribbon for my middle piece. I wrapped one piece around and adhered it and then the other.

I used two mini glue dots to put this on the front/middle of my ribbon that I placed on my bag. Your loops should be equal size on both sides.

I put some shredded paper in the bottom of my bag and added the Glitter Christmas Ornament.

I then added more shredded paper on the top of my Glitter Christmas Ornament to protect it.

Here is what I used to make this bag:
Brown Bag
Kiwi Kiss Cardstock
Urban Garden Designer Series Paper
Old Olive 5/8 Grosgrain ribbon
Word Window Punch
Tombow Adhesive
Mini Glue Dots
