Glitter Christmas Ornaments

I spotted some Glitter Christmas Balls on splitcoast and just had to try them out. I found using the same color glitter as re-inks works great! On these two I used Stampin' Up! Fine Cosmo Glitters. I used the Celery glitter with the Certainly Celery reinker and the Orchid glitter with the Perfect Plum reinker. I have a club on Saturday and my hostess loves the color green. She will be receiving the Certainly Celery Glitter Ball as her hostess gift.

Here is how I made these:

First I put drops of reinker into the ornament. I turned the ornament while the ink is dripping in so that the ink is all around it. Then I swirl and move the ornaments around until every little spot of glass is covered with ink. VERY IMPORTANT >>>I set the ornament upside down to let any of the extra ink run out. If you use a plastic cup any excess ink that comes out you can put onto your stamp pad. That way there is minimal waste. I used a paper towel to wipe the inside of the opening of excess ink. Keep holding the ornament upside down until you are ready to pour the glitter in. The second I turn the ornament over, I excessively pour the glitter in and covered the hole with a paper towel and instantly shake the ornament in all directions forcefully so that the glitter right away covers and sticks to the ink. The reason you do this fast, instant, forcefully- the more you do it that way, the less likely you are to end up with "runs" in the ink in your bulb. Shake out the excess glitter. If I have some glitter that comes out that is not wet, I put it back into my container to reuse. Otherwise I discard it. Then I let them sit upside down for just a little while to make sure all the extra stuff is out and to dry a little. I did this for about 30 minutes. Then they are all done! I used plastic cups and squeezed the side to pour the glitter in the bulb. I also used plastic cups to hold my bulbs to get rid of the excess ink and at the end to get rid of the extra stuff and to dry.

Here are some colors to try together:

If you purchase the Stampin' Up! Fine Cosmo Glitter you will get five different colors of glitter. The re-inkers that go with this glitter set are Certainly Celery, Rose Red, Perfect Plum, Pacific Point and Baja Breeze or Bashful Blue.

Enjoy!
